In 1932 H.A. Lynn Robinson of the Eastern Telegraph Company began the annual reunion luncheon, 'to keep and maintain unbroken friendships'. In the autumn of the same year the Traffic Department began its reunion luncheon. In the spring of 1965 Charles Hardy and Lewis Payton inaugurated the annual Chief Accountants reunion luncheon and in 1978 the annual luncheons merged to form the Cable & Wireless Traffic & Accounts Reunion Luncheon, which is held to this day, on or around the first Saturday of May.
